LaBEQ-WSSU Team receives $5.0M from NSF to expand QISE research and education.

LaBEQ, in collaboration with the Winston-Salem State University (WSSU, Dr. John Yi and his team), has received funding from the NSF’s ExpandQISE program to Expand quantum research and education at Winston-Salem State University with research on hybrid microwave-optical quantum devices. The total funding for this program is about $5.0M for 5 years. The program will launch a testbed for hybrid quantum devices (WHQL), hands-on training programs for future quantum engineers, and finally a BS program in QISE. LaBEQ will be a key partner of the program developing coursework and building the WHQL. Kasra will continue serving as the associate director to WS-QEC while co-lead the launch of WHQL, together with Yi.
